R.E.S.T. - Reclaiming Ease in Stressful Times

What is the REST Program?

In a world shaped by uncertainty, urgency and constant demands, rest becomes more than self-care, it is an act of reclamation. Reclaiming ease is not accomplished passively - it is active nervous system repair, inner realignment, and a quiet refusal to let stress, fear, and urgency culture dictate our lives.

The REST Program is a quarterly, Sunday sanctuary where we gather as a community to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what’s most essential. Together, we practice rest not as a luxury but as resilience, resistance, and collective care in dark and difficult times.

Each gathering will offer gentle structure and spaciousness—an invitation to let your body unwind, your mind settle, and your spirit recalibrate. With practices drawn from contemplative psychology, trauma-informed somatics, art therapy, and meditative traditions, REST supports you in restoring balance from the inside out.

What to Expect

We will meet quarterly, around the turning of the seasons. Since Karina's audience is international, we will gather online on Sunday mornings in the Eastern time zone. Each 90 minute session will include some of the following:

  • Contemplative reflection through journaling, or quiet integration

  • Simple art therapy exercises to awaken insight and move emotions

Gentle Embodiment & Movement

  • Somatic sequences designed to repair the overwhelm response

  • Accessible, gentle chair yoga and self-touch

  • Slow, mindful mobilizations to unstick tension

Deep Rest Practices

  • Structured deep relaxation

  • Yoga Nidra

Why REST with a Live Group?

Because healing in isolation has limits. Our nervous systems are wired for co-regulation — we settle more efficiently in the presence of steady, attuned others. Through mirror neurons and shared physiological cues, calmer states become contagious. Group practices like synchronized breathing, mindful stillness, and gentle movement can even support heart coherence, the measurable harmony in heart rhythms that signals safety to the brain. This is why resting together isn’t just comforting — it’s biologically intelligent.

Why REST with Karina?

Karina brings a unique blend of evidence-based, integrative, well-being practices drawn from over two decades as a contemplative educator and clinician. Over the last 18 months, she has also trained in cutting-edge therapeutic interventions in Charlie Health intensive mental health outpatient program, where she guides hundreds of clients through nervous system regulation, trauma-responsive care, and resilience-building techniques. â€‹

REST will weave these modalities into a grounded, accessible experience that honors both current neuroscience and longstanding contemplative wisdom. Karina's approach is warm, trauma-informed, and deeply human — offering participants tools that are research-backed, immediately effective, and usable in everyday life.
